| Junction City, KY (September 15, 2016) Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jamie Stumph and co-owner Larry Redenivs are pleased to announce weight breaks in all divisions if drivers are using certain safety devices on their race cars while in competition at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”
Any driver in any division that utilizes the HANS device will receive a 30 pound weight break in their division. Also, any driver in any division that has their race car equipped with an onboard operation fire extinguishing system will receive a 20 pound weight break. Full containment seats are not mandatory, but are highly recommended to help enhance driver safety.
“We wanted to do something to give the drivers an incentive to have themselves in a better position from a safety standpoint while they are in competition at our track”, stated track promoter Jamie Stumph. “Some series already do these things and with all the injuries and bad accidents drivers have experienced in our sport this season, we as track wanted to do something to promote and enhance driver safety in our area”, added Stumph.
